                                                                   Magic Tree House

                                                             The Diamond at Daytime

                                                            Chapter 1: The Sunny Woods

Jack got was sitting on his bed. He got up. It was summer break in Frog Creek. It was around July.

"Jack!" He heard a voice call his name.

He turned around. It was his seven year old sister, Annie.

"Lets go to the tree house!" She said.

"Lunch is in like five seconds, can we go there in the evening." Jack replied.

"No, now." Annie replied.

"Jack! Annie! Lunch!" There mom shouted.

"See what I mean, its lunch time." Jack stated.

"Mom! Can we eat lunch in 5 minutes! Me and Jack need to go outside!" Annie shouted back.

Oh brother, thought Jack, well he did want to go to the tree house.

"Okay, but come quick." There mom said.

Jack picked up the medallion, the bookmark, and his notebook. He shoved them in his backpack.

Jack looked up. "Lets go." He said.

They ran downstairs, ran out of the porch, and dashed through the woods to the tallest oak tree in the woods. They both started looking for books.

"I like this one," Annie told Jack. Jack looked up. It was a book about the Titanic ship.

"No way," Jack replied.

Then Jack picked up a book, the title said The Hope Diamond

"I think we should go to here," Jack said.

Annie looked up. She was first looking at a book of King Tuts tomb.

"Er.... Yeah, okay," Annie said.

Jack opened the page to where the bookmark was, he pointed at the picture and said "I wish we could go there. The tree house started to spin. It spun faster and faster. Jack squeezed his eyes shut. Then everything was still. Absolutely still.

                                                                  Chapter 2: The Hope Diamond

Jack opened his eyes. Annie was peeking out of the window. Jack put the diamond book in his backpack.

"Ready to go," he asked Annie.

Annie jumped. She had no idea Jack opened his eyes.

"Er.. yeah," Annie replied.

She started down the rope ladder. Jack followed. As they walked Jack stopped. Annie turned around.

"Whats the matter?" She asked.

"I forgot to look at the book," Jack answered.

He quickly opened the book. He read aloud:

This diamond story all started with a diamond that stolen in India in the mid-1600's. It then ended up with the King and Queen of France 1 hundred years later, but they didn't own it for long. Then a American Socialite bought it, but then a few of her family members passed away. Now its called the Hope Diamond. Then it got donated to the Smithsonian Institution, but the driver who was supposed to give the diamond got his leg crushed in a car accident. Nothing ever happened since then, except it turns red whenever it is exposed to ultraviolet light. If you touch this diamond, you get bad luck.

Jack looked up. Annie was looking straight at him. Then they looked at there left and right. They froze when they saw their left. They could see a magnificent kingdom with 2 servants guarding the entrance and were standing as if they were half statues-half robots-half human sized toys.

Chapter 3: The King and Queen of France

"Lets go," Annie said.

"No way, you heard the book, its too dangerous." Jack stated.

"I'm not going too touch the diamond, I'm not the world's dumbest person," Annie replied.

Jack sighed. He did want to see a kingdom with kings and queens.

"All right, but how are we going too get inside?" Jack asked.

Annie opened her mouth to say something, but no words came out, nothing.

"Do you hear that?" She asked.

Jack froze. He did hear that. A knight's horse neighing.

"Get down!" He said.

He crouched. Annie did the same thing. They saw a knight on a horse that ran right past them, the knight ran so fast Jack and Annie nearly fell down. It ran straight to the kingdom. The soldier's that were guarding the kingdom let the knight through.

"That knights looks like the one we saw in the medieval times!" Annie said.

Jack was not paying attention to Annie words. He was looking straight at a sleeping dart. He picked it up.

"I know how to get past those servant's!" Jack said. He shot the sleeping dart right at the soldiers.

The soldiers fell down as if they fainted.

"Come on Annie!" "Come on!" Jack shouted.

They ran past the gates and past the soldiers, but a second after they passed the gate they stopped. Right in front of them were people on a chariot. They had angry looks at them. They had fancy clothes, and they were wearing majestic crowns. It was the King and Queen of France.

                                                            Chapter 4: Mwa-ha-ha

Jack and Annie looked in horror.

"Guards! Take them in the prison!" The king shouted.

A millisecond later Jack and Annie turned around and started running, but when they were near the gate they saw spears block them. The guards were awake.

"Grab them!" The king shouted again.

They felt a few hands grab them.

"Let go of us!" Annie shouted. She kicked a guards stomach.

Jack regretted coming in the tree house. He wanted to go home now.

"Okay!" "Okay!" Jack shouted. "We'll go."

"Take them!" The king shouted again.

"Why are you taking us, aren't we your people, aren't you supposed to protect us?" Jack asked.

The king did not say anything at all. He did not no what to say.

"Er... you can go then." The king said.

The guards let go of Jack and Annie, but yet again as they were about to step out of the gate the king shouted "Halt!" Jack and Annie froze. They turned around.

"What?" They asked.

"Why do you not have a french accent?" The king questioned them.

"Er............" Jack and Annie did not say anything but that.

"Take them!" Louis shouted again and the guards grabbed them once again and threw them in a prison.

"You will be beheaded tomorrow." One of the soldiers said.

Right after that soldier said this. Annie stood up. She had a evil look on your face.

"Mwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! Annie shouted. I am the evil magician here to destroy your king!"

Oh brother, thought Jack, is she nuts? They're like, 50 years old! Not 4 years old.

To his surprise the guards begged Annie not to do it.

"Then you must let us go and the king should not know!" Annie once again shouted.

Jack covered his ears, he was done with people shouting, he didn't want to hear anymore shouting.

The guards opened the gate and Jack and Annie escaped from the palace.

"Well that was a close one." Jack said.

"Wait, do you hear that?" Annie asked Jack.

"Hear what?" Jack asked.

"Hear that." Annie replied.

Jack froze. He did hear that.

"What do we do?" He asked.

"What else? Run!" Annie replied.

                                                         Chapter 5: Take That!

As Jack and Annie ran they found a humongous rock. They hid behind it.

"What are we going to do?" Jack asked.

"Think! The kings chasing us!" Annie replied.

Suddenly Jack felt something in his pocket. It was that sleeping gun he shot at the soldiers.

"I know what to do!" Jack said.

"What?" Annie asked.

Jack did not say anything. He just took the gun and shot the king. The charioteer stopped. The horses stopped. The guards hopped of their horses. They all surrounded Louis XVI, trying to wake him up.

"Lets go!" Annie whispered.

The guards turned around. They heard Annie. They were walking over to the humongous rock. Jack picked up the sleeping gun, ready to shoot. The guards walked over to the rock. Jack shot them one by one.

"Take that!" Jack shouted and while he was shouting this he was wondering if he was Annie or not.

"Can we get out of here now?" Annie asked.

"Yeah, quick." Jack replied.

                                                   Chapter 6: How Many More

Jack and Annie ran quicker and quicker.

"This was a lot less violent in my head." Jack told Annie.

"Yup, a lot, 1,000,000 times less violent in my head." Annie replied.

Jack then froze.

"Oh man, I forgot to take notes." Jack said.

"Forget it Jack, you can survive without taking one note." Said Annie

Jack ignored her. He pulled out his notebook, he wrote:

The Hope Diamond

Louis XVI

Jack looked up. He threw his notebook in his backpack and put it back on.

"Ready." Jack said.

He and Annie started running again, but suddenly they fell in a sewer.

"We'll die in here." Jack said almost throwing up.

"Lets get out of here!" Annie shouted.

They climbed up the sewer and out of it.

"How many more obstacles are we gonna face?" Annie asked.

"Yeah, will we ever go back to the United States?" Jack replied.

"There are about two to three obstacles left." Annie said.

"Like what?" Jack asked.

"Like that." Annie answered.

"Like what?" Jack asked again.

"Like that." Annie answered again.

Before Jack could say anything else they got stuck in a net. The king of France captured them once again.

                                                               Chapter 7: We're Total Toast

They put Jack and Annie in a special cage with the net and carried them on a chariot.

"Great, the king caught us again." Jack said right after they closed the cage.

Right after Jack said that there was silence, silence for a long time. Until the cage opened. A soldier carried them all the way to the kingdom. The soldier through them in another cage and shut the door.

"Tomorrow, you will be beheaded, one soldier said.

Right after  the soldiers left, Annie stared at Jack.

"What does beheaded mean?" She asked.

"I'll tell you, but promise me you won't freak out." Jack replied.

"OK, I promise. Annie said. Now what does beheaded mean."

"Its means getting your head cut off your body." Jack said.

Jack knew it, Annie definitely freaked out, she even screamed. Jack was freaking out too, getting your head cut off?

We're total toast, Jack thought, he didn't want to say it out loud because he knew Annie would scream even more louder.

                                                         Chapter 8: The Diamond Again

When Annie stopped screaming, Jack started speaking.

"I got an idea," he said.

He took the gun he has used multiple times and shot it up. They fell down foot first.

"Okay, now how do we get out of these bars?" Annie asked.

Right after Annie said this, Jack found some small treasure chest.

"Are you curious of whats in there, Annie?" Jack asked.

Annie eyes caught the treasure chest too, but before Annie could do anything else, Jack stormed to the treasure chest ad opened it. Right there was a diamond, and that diamond was not an ordinary diamond. It was the Hope diamond.

"That looks like the exact same thing in the book!" Annie said.

"It looks like you found out my secret you hyenas," A voice said behind them.

Jack and Annie turned around, standing in front of them was Louis XVI.

Chapter 9: Just Get Out of Here!

Right after Louis said this they suddenly heard woman screaming.

"Whats that? He asked. I'll be right back."

He walked and walked and Jack and Annie did nothing until his footsteps died.

"Look in the book," Annie said.

"Why?" Jack asked.

"We need to no why we hear screaming." Annie told Jack.

Jack opened the book, he read aloud:

Everybody in France hated Louis XVI's wife, Marie Antoinette who was also queen of France. They thought she was greedy and selfish. They misjudged her. So one day some woman burst into Marie's room and began destroying it. A few days later the king and queen of France were carried away by those woman. The next day or a few days or weeks later the king and queen of France were beheaded. Marie Antoinette was the last queen of France.

Jack's looked at the book in horror. Suddenly they saw men bursting into the jail.

"I know how we can get out this jail." Annie whispered to Jack.

"How?" Jack asked.

"Help!" "Help!" Annie shouted.

All of the men turned around.

"Children?" "Children in jail?" One of them said.

"The queen put us in hear when we're innocent, can you help us?" Annie asked them.

One of them took out a axe and broke the bars.

"Your free to go." He said.

"Thanks." Annie replied.

Annie stormed out, but Jack stayed where he was, he was staring at the Hope Diamond.

"Just get out of here! Annie shouted. Forget the diamond!"

Jack kept on staring at the diamond though, he couldn't stop staring at it. The he turned around stormed out with Annie. They burst out the kingdom and it took them 30 minutes to go to them tree house. Jack went up the rope ladder first. Annie followed. Annie took the Frog Creek, Pennsylvania book and opened it. Then she pointed at the picture.

"I wish we could go there." Annie said.

The tree house started to spin. It spun faster and faster. Jack squeezed his eyes shut. The everything was still. Absolutely still.

                                                  Chapter 10: What Is That?

Jack opened his eyes. Annie was standing right in front of him.

"I kind of want to go on another adventure." Annie said.

"No, way, we might of survived this one, but we'll die in the next one." Jack replied.

"Other than that, I wonder who controls France now." Annie said.

"What do you mean?" Jack asked.

"I mean now that the king and queen is extinct, is their a prime minister or a president, like our president is Donald Trump." Annie replied.

"They have a prime minister now, his name is Jean Castex." Jack said.

"Oh, well, hey, what is that?" Annie said.

"What?" Jack asked in a confused look and he was confused.

Annie walked to a small scroll in the tree house and picked it up. Jack took it from her. He opened it. Annie looked at the scroll too. It said:

Come back on Friday

-Sincerely,

The Mysterious M person

They both looked up and looked at each other.

"Do you think that's the day we'll see the M person?" Annie asked Jack.

"Maybe who knows?" Jack replied.

Jack opened his backpack. He took the Diamond book out and put it back in the book shelves.

"Ready for lunch?" Jack asked Annie.

"Ready," Annie replied. She was smiling.

Annie started down the rope ladder. Jack followed.

They dashed out the Frog Creek woods. As they ran Jack was thinking in his head.

How come he spent a whole day without saying are you nuts to Annie? Then he thought of something else. Annie right, forget the diamond. Whats the use of it? It would be useless.
